Re: Do What You Do Best…

A few years ago I heard NY Times Best Selling author Robert G. Allen  say” Do What You do Best and Outsource The Rest.”  Mark Victor Hansen is famous for saying, ” You Can’t Make $500 Dollars an Hour Doing The $5 Dollar an Hour Work.”

These two quotes have made it to the wall in my office.  The concept behind “Marketing You Can Use” was to share and provide marketing tips and strategies for the small business owner.

Sometimes at business owners, we get caught up in the day the day activites. It could be as simple as photocopying a few pages of a report or refilling the paper towels in the restroom. This is the perfect example of doing the $5 dollar an work but expecting $500 dollar an hour return on time invested.

I am not saying you should never do some of those activites. Just remember the two quotes at the beginning of this article.

“Do what you do best and outsource the rest.” Robert G. Allen
“You can’t make $500 dollars an hour doing the $5 dollar an hour work.” Mark Victor Hansen

The Power of Attending Live Events

Re: The Power of Attending Live Events:

The first marketing training seminar I ever attended was with Tom Hopkins and Jim Rohn back in 1991.

To this day I remember a quote from each of them:
Tom Hopkins…

“Work is doing whatever you are doing when you’d rather be doing something else.”

Jim Rohn…
“In order for things to get better I must get better. In order for things to change I must change.”

After 20 years of attending seminars, I’ve discovered the Power To Attending Live events is with the relationships you develop. It goes back to something I heard Mark Victor Hansen say over and over again…

“It’s not who you know, but who knows you!”

When I do a map of all the key relationships in my life today, 90% of the people I met thru an event or seminar.

Live events give you face to face time with people. Not only do you get the benefit of the information you learn at the event, but get to discuss it with other like minded people.

Joint ventures and other kinds of partnerships are created and developed at live events all the time. It’s a face to face synergy. It boils down to relationships!

Everyone comes to the table with different skills, talents and resources.  When one is at a live event  you get the opportunity to explore how you may be able to help each other.

I can’t remember who said it, but it went something like this…
“If you are forming a team and one of you have the same skill and resources, one of you is not needed!’

JV can be as simple as, one person has a great product but doesn’t have list to send his offer too. Arrangements like this happen all the time at live events.

If there is one thing I’d recommend to anyone attending a live event is, be helpful. Be the connector in the room. Find out where people need help and then try to introduce those people to those that can help them.

Here is another great quote I love…(Can’t remember who said it)
“People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care”! Help other people and people will help you. It’s a universal law.

I’ll see you at the next event!

Attitude Over Economy

This past week there was an event in Las Vegas called InvestFest. Some of the worlds top motivational speakers and business entreprenuers in the world gave presentations. Les Brown, Mark Victor Hansen, Brian Tracy and Bill Walsh were among the superstars that spoke…

No doubt, people are struggling more now than ever before. All the hoping and wishing isn’t going to change that.

However, what you can control is your attitude. As my friend Les Brown says, “When things go bad, you don’t have to follow it”. Now more than ever you need to protect and empower your mental real estate.

*You need to monitor what you listen to.
*You need to monitor what you watch.
*You need to monitor what you read.

Everything yo do plants a seed in your mind. That seed grows to move you forward or hold you back.  When it come to your business it is your responsibility to stay focused, persistent and optimistic.  That’s why you need to protect your mental real estate.

Check out this short powerful interview I did with Venture Capitalist/Business Coach, Motivational Speaker Bill Walsh. Listen to what Bill has to say about attitude. You’ll be glad you did!

Now Make it a Great Day!

Does Your Affiliate Tool Center Bite?

Does Your Affiliate Marketing Tool Center Bite?

Recently I signed up for a few internet marketing affiliate programs of some very high profile internet marketers. I wanted to go through and experience their process. I was blown away at some of the down right crap I saw and experienced.

I’m not talking newbie marketers, I’m talking guru marketers…Marketers that you know, love and read about everyday!

Yes, some of them make big money on the big JV launches. However, I guarantee none of those JV partners went through the affiliate center signup process and got the promo tools on there own. They have a JV manager send them a pre-written email with their affiliate link already embeded in the message. That’s a good thing…

But…You may be thinking, if they make a million dollars on a launch who cares? No doubt a major launch with significant JV partners can generate fantastic profits. It’s a one time event. This is short term thinking…

The purpose of a well thought out affiliate program can and should be to generate a consistent flow of traffic and sales month after month. Think about it…Affiliates send you FREE traffic! It doesn’t get better than that. Plus, you only pay your affiliates when they generate a sale!

I owe my Thanks to Stu Mclaren of Wish List Products for introducing  and training me as an Affiliate Manager in 2006. I was part of his beta program called Affiliate Inferno.

Since then, some of my clients have included Mark Victor Hansen, Robert G. Allen, Jay Abraham, Stu Mclaren, and most recently Armand Morin for his Brave The Wave program…

Having worked with some of the bigger marketers in the industry, I have seen and or created what goes into a quality Affiliate Marketing Tool Center.

If you are in it for the long haul, take the time to create quality affiliate tool center created. You’ll be glad you did!
